About
My life was turned upside-down at age forty-three. It was unexpected, overwhelming and heartrending. I cried so much, and for so long, I didn’t think the pain would ever end.
A few years later, I’m finally starting to feel the ground under my feet again. Slowly, I’m finding peace within myself and the world around me. I would like to share my experiences with you, from the exact moment when everything changed forever.
This blog is not…
This is not your typical midlife blog. I won’t be talking about tips and tricks on how to get through a midlife crisis. I’m also not going to talk about fashion, fitness or how to deal with aging.
This blog is…
See my blog as a journey, a biography of sorts that should be read like a book. Start at the beginning and follow the path. You’ll also find fun sidebars on topics about everyday life, the things that make us laugh and reflect.
Topics you will find:
- Marriage and Divorce
- chemistry, attraction and libido
- infidelity: who’s at fault?
- Dating in my 40’s
- the good and the bad of online dating
- examples of men I met and conversations we had
- what I learnt about divorced men over age 40
- Traveling alone for the first time
- feeling loneliness and strength on the other side of the world
- places I went and things I saw
- The brain and mindfulness
- mental illness
- drugs that modify brain chemistry
- spiritual teachers and leaders in the spiritual movement
Why am I writing this blog?
- Writing is therapeutic. Through writing I can understand more clearly what happened to me and how I can move forward.
- To help people who are struggling with similar situations and hopefully contribute, in some way, to their healing process.
- As an artist, I am passionate about expressing my deepest thoughts and beliefs in a creative way. This blog is my creative outlet and a means to reconnect with my Self.
I invite you to read, reflect and hope with me.
There is great comfort in sharing experiences and knowing we are not alone in our struggles – and our joys.
Yours,
Zoe
